Five Steps to Combat Jet Lag When Arriving in Auckland New Zealand

Five Steps to Combat Jet Lag When Arriving in Auckland New Zealand

The perfect remedy for jet lag experienced on arrival to Auckland, New Zealand involves following five simple steps.

Step 1: Take a nonstop flight to Auckland arriving early morning, and head straight to the ferry to Waiheke Island.  You might have the ferry to yourself.

The ferry runs from Auckland to Waiheke Island about every 30 minutes.

Step 2: Check into a boutique hotel that captures the local flavor and makes you feel at home (but much more pampered).

This boutique property has the feel of a summer beach cottage.

Step 3: Put on your hiking boots and soak in the scenery and peace of the island while getting some exercise.

The coastal track is just that, with views like this.

Step 4: Enjoy the local wines, olive oil, and gourmet fare before a good night’s sleep.

Stonyridge Winery offers tasting and lunch platters in a beautiful setting.

Bluff oysters are local and sweet.

Step 5: Repeat Steps 3-4.

It’s worth a try! Rangihoua has award winning olive oils and a lovely tasting room.

Two nights on Waiheke Island is a perfect start to touring in New Zealand. Watch for more tips and New Zealand highlights soon.
